Common repairs
| Damage | Typical repair |
|---|---|
| Nail pops and small holes | Reset or remove the fastener, fill, sand, prime. |
| Doorknob-size holes | Patch kit or backing, tape, several coats of compound. |
| Larger holes | Cut back to framing, new drywall piece, tape and finish. |
| Cracks at doors and windows | Re-tape and finish; recurring cracks may indicate movement worth investigating. |
| Water-stained or soft drywall | Fix the leak first, let it dry, then replace damaged sections. |
Texture matching
Many Florida homes have knockdown or orange-peel texture. Matching it is what makes a patch disappear. Smooth walls show every imperfection, so they need more finishing time.
Water damage: fix the source first
A stain means water got there. Patching over it hides the problem until it comes back, bigger. If the source is plumbing, call Uniform Plumbing; if it's the AC drain, Uniform HVAC. Visible mold should be assessed by a qualified specialist.
