What buildings commonly require
- Vendor registration with management
- A certificate of insurance naming the association
- Elevator reservation and pads for moving materials
- Work only during set hours, often weekdays
- Check-in at the front desk and parking in designated spots
- Protection of hallways and common areas
Before you book
- Have management's contact and the building's vendor rules
- Know which items are yours and which are the association's
- List every item so the visit covers them all
- Arrange access if you won't be there
Unit vs association responsibility
Your condo documents decide who handles what. Interior finishes are usually the owner's; common elements, structure and some windows and doors may be the association's. If an item belongs to the association, report it to management rather than paying for it yourself.
